Are you ready to kick-start your career in property maintenance with one of the UK’s leading housing providers? Then join Hyde Housing as a Property Maintenance Apprentice and gain hands-on experience across a wide range of essential trades while working towards your Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Hyde Housing is one of the UK’s leading housing providers, managing homes and communities across London, the Southeast and surrounding areas and is looking for 2 Property Maintenance Apprentices to join them and build the skills and confidence you need for a successful future in the industry.

What you will learn:

How to learn and develop the skills and knowledge in property maintenance whilst working in the field alongside experienced colleagues.
A broad range of fundamental trade skills including carpentry, joinery, plumbing, plastering and brick and block work, external works and associated finishing trades including tiling, painting, and decorating
Building Regulations knowledge and achieving a full property maintenance qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

To conduct routine maintenance tasks and minor planned and responsive repair works
To support the delivery of efficient, flexible and professional repair, servicing and installation work, provide high-quality repairs and maintain resident satisfaction.
To ensure all work supports the company’s compliance and buildings operation including equipment, techniques and processes to prevent damage.
To comply with company Health and Safety requirements and ensure all work meets with building safety regulations and legislation.
Demonstrate professional representation of the company through appropriate professional behaviours.
Apply all knowledge, behaviours and skill attributes being achieved during the apprenticeship to your role at work.
Adhere to all Hyde Groups policies and procedures

Who you will be:

Someone who has a positive CV showing a minimum grade 3 achieved in GCSE Math and English.
Someone with good communication skills who may be already demonstrating their intent on wanting a career in construction from gained work experience or a trade diploma.
Someone with a strong ability to apply themselves to physical tasks and demanding work patterns.

Working Week: 39 hours: 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4pm on Friday including one day at Chichester College.

Salary: £25,000 per annum subject to potential increase on 31st July 2026.

Qualifications: GCSE Math and English minimum grade 3 required.

Future Prospects: Potential for advancement on successful completion of the apprenticeship.

What you need to know:

Apprenticeships with Hyde Housing involve working in customers’ homes, so applicants would need to possess social skills and strong understanding of customer satisfaction.
Our customers cover a wide diversified range of all ages and needs.
This role would be based out of the Havant Office, and apprentices will be expected to travel from site to site as required.
A driving license would be an advantage although not essential.
Drivers may progress onto driving company vehicle after 6-12 months if suitable.
Non-drivers would be paired with a trades coach who will meet them daily to get to visits, this will be at a location accessible to the apprentice and coach, so dependent on where they live, apprentices must be prepared to travel within 1 hour of our Havant Office.
There are 2 positions available, and Interviews will take place between 27th July and 14th August 2026 and the role is scheduled to start at the beginning of September 2026.
This apprenticeship is for 2 years and 3 months apprenticeship including end point assessment.
You MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for an apprenticeship.
You MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK.
You MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study.
You MUST BE committed to completing the full apprenticeship

Further Information: Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £8.00 per hour (As of the 1st April 2025). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16- to 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.

Pay: £25,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

Havant PO9 2NL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
