Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise advanced accounting software and financial management skills within a dynamic organisation. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a strong background in financial services, accounting software, and team mentoring.

Responsibilities

Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar programmes.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently to ensure timely payments and collections.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management review.
Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data across multiple platforms.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures in compliance with organisational policies.
Mentor junior staff members on best practices in financial management and accounting procedures.
Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in financial services or similar roles with a strong background in financial accounting.
Proficiency in various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or equivalent platforms.
Demonstrated expertise in accounts payable processes and overall financial management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members is desirable.
Relevant qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent are preferred but not essential.
