Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician / Class IV Mot Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical expertise and technical skills in a dynamic workshop environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about vehicle maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify vehicle issues accurately.
Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks efficiently.
Repair or replace faulty components, including welding parts where necessary to restore vehicle integrity.
Assist with equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop tools and machinery are in optimal condition.
Carry out heavy lifting safely when handling engine parts or other heavy components during repairs.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and addressing client concerns professionally.
Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Requirements

Proven experience with vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, and mechanical principles related to motor vehicles.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics accurately.
Good understanding of vehicle safety standards and repair procedures.
Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various workshop environments.
Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients.
Prior experience in equipment repair or maintenance is desirable but not essential.
Qualified Mot Class IV Tester, preferred.
