Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-time Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team at an award winning wedding venue in Usk!

In this vital role, you will manage essential financial records, ensure accurate bookkeeping practices, and support our accounting processes. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work with a passionate team dedicated to maintaining financial integrity. Your expertise will help keep our financial operations running smoothly, allowing us to focus on growth and excellence.

Duties

Maintain and update financial records using the accounting software Xero
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring timely payments
Assist with accounts receivable tasks including invoicing and tracking outstanding payments
Weekly payroll via PAYE and invoices.
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures with attention to detail
Collaborate with the team to improve bookkeeping processes and maintain compliance with financial policies

Requirements

Proven experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Strong understanding of accounts payable procedures and general ledger management
Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
Experience with payroll
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Strong communication skills
Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles is essential

Previous experience in the hospitality sector is an advantage.

Salary is dependent on experience to be discuss on interview
