Full job description

Nova Horizon Investment is launching its Birmingham operation on 31 August 2026 and is appointing a Client Relationship Executive to join the new branch from launch. This associate level position will sit at the centre of the client journey, acting as a main relationship point between clients and Nova Horizon's consultants, advisers and internal teams.

Joining at the beginning of the Birmingham operation creates a different type of career development opportunity. Rather than stepping into an established client services structure, you will join while local client relationships, processes and ways of working are developing. As the branch grows, you will gain first hand exposure to how a client relationship function develops alongside a growing portfolio and wider team.

The Opportunity

As a Client Relationship Executive, you will initially learn Nova Horizon's services, client journey, CRM systems and internal processes before gradually developing responsibility for your own portfolio of client relationships.

This is not a call centre or basic customer service role. It combines client services, relationship management, account support, client onboarding, stakeholder communication and business administration within a professional financial consultancy environment.

You will not be responsible for personally providing regulated financial or investment advice unless appropriately authorised. Your focus will be ensuring clients receive clear communication, effective coordination and access to the appropriate Nova Horizon Investment specialists.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the onboarding of new individual and business clients
Acting as a professional point of contact throughout the client relationship
Managing client enquiries, ongoing communication and service updates
Building productive long term relationships with existing clients
Scheduling consultations, strategic reviews, client meetings and follow up appointments
Preparing clients for meetings with consultants and advisers and coordinating required information
Working across consulting, finance, operations and other internal teams to progress client requirements
Maintaining accurate CRM records, including client activity, meeting outcomes and agreed actions
Monitoring outstanding actions and ensuring clients receive appropriate follow up
Supporting client documentation, reporting and relationship management processes
Identifying additional client requirements and referring relevant opportunities to the appropriate specialist or team
Supporting selected client meetings, professional events, briefings and networking activities when required

You will also contribute to the continued development of client service processes within the Birmingham branch as the operation grows.

What We're Looking For

We are keeping the candidate profile intentionally broad and welcome transferable experience from client services, account management, customer success, banking, insurance, property, recruitment, professional services, business administration, sales support and other professional client facing environments.

You should be able to demonstrate:

Strong professional written and verbal communication
Experience building and maintaining productive client or customer relationships
Good organisation and the ability to coordinate several client requirements at the same time
Strong attention to detail when handling records, documentation and follow up actions
Experience using CRM systems or similar client management software
Commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of client retention and service quality
The ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and senior internal stakeholders
Reliable professional judgement when handling confidential or commercially sensitive information

Previous experience within financial services or professional services would be advantageous, but direct investment industry experience is not essential.

A potential pathway could include:

Client Relationship Executive
£28,500 to £30,000

Senior Client Relationship Executive
Indicative salary range: £31,500 to £34,000

At senior level, responsibilities could expand to include managing a larger or more complex client portfolio, supporting newer colleagues, contributing to client retention activity, improving onboarding processes and working more closely with senior consultants and the Director.

Client Relationship Manager
Indicative salary range: £36,000 to £42,000

At management level, the role could develop into leading Client Relationship Executives, allocating client portfolios, reviewing service standards, managing escalated relationship matters, supporting key accounts and helping shape the Birmingham client relationship function.

Longer term development may include positions such as Senior Client Relationship Manager or Head of Client Relationships as the wider business structure evolves.

The broader career path is designed around developing from managing client relationships, to supporting and developing people, and ultimately taking greater responsibility for a client function.
