Full job description

Kitchen Manager / Head Chef

Location: Bradeney House Nursing Home
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week (including alternate weekends as required)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Join Our Team

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and organised Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to lead our kitchen team within our friendly and well-established nursing home.

Our residents deserve delicious, nutritious and well-presented meals that meet their individual dietary, cultural and clinical needs. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to delivering high-quality food and an excellent dining experience every day.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead the kitchen service, manage a dedicated team and ensure the highest standards of food safety, nutrition and hospitality.

Main Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Plan and prepare nutritious, varied and appetising menus.
Cater for specialist diets, including texture-modified meals and therapeutic diets.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene legislation, HACCP and infection prevention standards.
Manage food ordering, stock control and kitchen budgets.
Supervise, support and develop the kitchen team.
Maintain excellent cleaning schedules and kitchen records.
Work closely with residents, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure individual dietary needs and preferences are met.
Ensure all meals are prepared and served to a consistently high standard.
Promote a positive dining experience for all residents.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous experience as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or Senior Chef.
Has experience working within a care home, healthcare or hospitality environment (desirable but not essential).
Holds a Level 3 Food Safety qualification (or is willing to obtain one).
Has knowledge of nutrition for older people and modified diets.
Can effectively manage a team and lead by example.
Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
Is passionate about delivering outstanding food and customer service.
Can work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
