Early Years Practitioner – Maternity Cover

About the role

Little Beehive Nursery Strathkinness is looking for a fully qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team on a maternity cover basis.

This is a part-time position working 19 hours per week across Monday and Tuesday.

We are looking for someone who is caring, enthusiastic and professional, with a genuine passion for supporting children to learn, develop and thrive through play.

What you’ll be doing

As an Early Years Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment
Supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing
Planning, preparing and reviewing the curriculum alongside the team within your room
Providing engaging, child-centred learning and play experiences
Working in partnership with parents and families
Building positive and nurturing relationships with children
Following all Little Beehive Nursery policies and procedures
Supporting high standards of safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing
Working collaboratively as part of the wider nursery team
Contributing positively to the day-to-day life of the nursery

What we’re looking for

To be considered for this role, you will need:

SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People), or an equivalent recognised qualification
Previous experience of working with children
A warm, caring and professional approach
Good organisational skills
Creativity and enthusiasm
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to providing high-quality early learning and childcare

You should be someone who is friendly, organised, creative and dependable, with a genuine interest in helping children develop confidence, independence and curiosity.
