Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating manufacturing machinery to produce top-quality packaging products. Your energy and mechanical aptitude will help ensure smooth production processes, safety compliance, and continuous improvement in our operations.

Duties

Set up, operate, and monitor cardboard packaging machinery.
Use computer terminals to set and operate the machines.
Read and interpret works orders and drawings for machine setup and adjustments.
Handle materials efficiently, ensuring proper loading and unloading, on and around the machine
Perform routine daily safety inspections, operator maintenance, and housekeeping activities.
Maintain accurate production records, follow safety protocols, and ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.

Skills

Good mechanical knowledge with experience in a production environment
Comfortable interpreting works orders and technical drawings.
The ability to use small hand tools effectively for setting and maintenance and tasks.
Knowledge of manual handling techniques within a factory setting.
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is advantageous
Good communication skills, and enjoy being part of a team.
You enjoy growing your skills, and being training, with guidance from colleagues and managers.

Training Period and Working Hours

There will be a training program for the first 16 weeks. The hours for the training period will be:
Week 1-8 = 10am - 6pm Mon -Thurs, 11:30 - 5pm Fri
Week 9-16 = 12noon - 8pm Mon-Fri, 11:30 - 5pm Fri
Once training is complete the parmenant working hours will be:
2pm - 10pm Monday to Thursday
11:30am - 5pm Friday
