Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented qualified Accounts Technician to join our team. This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of our finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of invoices, and effective financial control across the business.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accounts administration, excellent attention to detail, and confidence working with financial systems and Excel. This is a hands-on, office-based role within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Process purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct coding
Raise sales invoices in line with contract and work order requirements
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
Assist with credit control and follow up on outstanding payments
Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Support month-end processes including reconciliations
Liaise with internal team to ensure correct financial information is captured
Assist with preparation of reports for management
Ensure compliance with company procedures and financial controls
Assist with the preparation of quotations and general office management

Requirements

Previous experience in an accounts or finance role (essential)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (filters, basic formulas)
Experience with accounting software (e.g. ideally V.T or similar) is essential
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Confident communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

AAT qualified or studying towards AAT
Relevant finance or accounting qualification

Salary & Benefits

£30,000 – £33,000 per year (depending on experience)
20 days holiday plus bank holidays

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
9:00am – 5:30pm
Office-based role
