Full job description

Visiting Carer – Elderly Client (W1, London)

We are looking for two experienced, compassionate carers to support an elderly lady living with dementia in W1, London. The family has an established daily routine, so reliability, punctuality, and a consistent approach are important. The client is of Asian origin and speaks very little English, so patience and the ability to build trust through kind, reassuring interactions are essential.

Hours

Main Carer (Approx. 59.5 hours/week)

Monday–Friday: 9:30–11:30 & 13:00–20:00
Saturday: 10:30–20:00
Sunday: 11:00–13:00 & 18:00–20:00

Second / Cover Carer (Approx. 19.5 hours/week)

Monday–Friday: 9:30–11:00 & 18:00–20:00
Saturday: 10:30–12:30 & 18:00–20:00

About the Client

The client is an elderly lady living with dementia who requires support with:

Personal care, dressing, bathing, and continence care
Safe mobility and transfers (two carers are required for transfers)
Meal support and encouragement with eating and drinking
Regular toilet visits and hydration prompts
Walking, gentle exercises, games, and companionship

The client has previous injuries to both shoulders and reduced vision, so all physical assistance should be provided with care.

Daily Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with the morning care routine and personal hygiene
Preparing and supporting breakfast and lunch
Encouraging regular fluids and toilet visits throughout the day
Providing companionship, walking, and meaningful activities
Light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean, tidy home
Keeping clear care notes and communicating with the family when needed

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting people living with dementia
Is confident with personal care and mobility support
Is reliable, punctual, and well organised
Is calm, patient, and compassionate
Is comfortable following an established care routine and working closely with the family

Additional Information

Two carers are being recruited to provide continuity of care and holiday cover.
A full handover and guidance on the family's preferred routines will be provided before the placement begins.

This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for an experienced carer who takes pride in delivering compassionate, person-centred care while building a trusting relationship with both the client and her family.

Pay: £160.00-£165.00 per day
