Full job description

Southfields Group Practice Wandsworth is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to undertake the role of Practice Nurse who can demonstrate a strong range of abilities around all primary care nursing activities. Excellent interpersonal skills and good IT skills. Experience of EMIS system is desirable.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, performing cervical smears, delivering essential vaccinations and assisting with chronic illness management, working collaboratively within the nursing team and wider clinical teams. This position requires a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care within a busy, professional, yet friendly environment. The role is part time over 2-3 days, flexibility around working days to suit the right candidate'

Responsibilities

Delivering high standards of patient care across a range of medical conditions and treatments.
Assisting with health assessments, vaccinations, wound care, and chronic disease management programmes.
Supporting patients with health education and lifestyle advice tailored to their individual needs.
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with data protection regulations.
Collaborating with the wider healthcare team to ensure effective service delivery.
Managing appointment schedules and prioritising patient needs efficiently.
Ensuring infection control protocols are strictly followed within the practice environment.

Requirements

Registered Nurse qualification with valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Proven experience in patient care within a clinical setting is desirable.
Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to support accurate assessments and treatments.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to support diverse patient needs.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards and guidelines. This role offers an engaging environment where your skills can make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while working within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in healthcare delivery.
