Business Support Administrator

Location: McAtee Recycling, 49 Plantation Road, Gilford, Craigavon, BT63 5NH

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Salary: £29,000 - £33,000

About Us

We are a well-established, family-run business operating within the transport and recycling industry. We pride ourselves on maintaining a friendly, supportive workplace with excellent team morale, where every member of the team plays an important role in the success of the business.

We are looking for an organised, reliable and proactive Office Administrator / Accounts Administrator to join our close-knit team. This is a varied and rewarding role working in a small office team, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and thrives in a busy office environment.

The Role

As our Office Administrator / Accounts Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the business, ensuring the office runs efficiently while providing excellent customer service to clients, suppliers and drivers.

This is a hands-on role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage a variety of administrative and accounts-related tasks throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

Answering incoming telephone calls professionally and directing enquiries where appropriate.
Managing office emails and responding promptly to customer and supplier enquiries.
Processing sales invoices and carrying out general invoicing duties.
Assisting with day-to-day accounts administration using Sage Accounts.
Operating the weighbridge system and accurately recording vehicle movements.
Preparing, organising and filing paperwork both electronically and manually.
Maintaining accurate customer and supplier records.
Providing a high standard of customer service at all times.
Supporting the Managing Director with a range of administrative and operational tasks.
Producing documents, spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Assisting with general office administration to ensure the smooth running of the business.

About You

The ideal candidate will be organised, approachable and confident working independently within a small office environment.

Essential

Previous office administration experience.
Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Confident using computer systems and learning new software.
Friendly, professional and customer-focused approach.
Reliable, proactive and able to work on your own initiative.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is essential due to our rural location and limited public transport links.

Desirable

Experience using Sage Accounts.
Previous experience within the transport, recycling or waste management industry (preferred but not essential).
Experience using a weighbridge system.
