Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality and food service industry, with potential pathways for career development.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff
Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas within the kitchen
Supporting the organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Supporting the team during busy service periods to ensure timely food delivery

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations is desirable
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks within the kitchen setting
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards colleagues and customers
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends and evenings if necessary
