Job Summary:

LearnGate Education & Professional Development Ltd is seeking an organised, learner-focused, and commercially aware Senior Academic Operations Manager to lead our education and professional development operations in Manchester, England.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced academic, training, or education operations professional who enjoys improving programme delivery, supporting teaching teams, coordinating learner services, and maintaining high standards across academic administration.

You will oversee the day-to-day delivery of educational programmes, professional development courses, learner support, academic scheduling, quality processes, and operational performance. We welcome applicants from further education, higher education, private training, professional learning, online education, or related service environments.

What you'll do:

Lead the day-to-day operations of academic and professional development programmes
Coordinate course schedules, teaching resources, classrooms, and online learning delivery
Support tutors, trainers, programme leaders, and administrative team members
Monitor learner enrolment, attendance, progress, completion, and satisfaction
Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and operational documentation
Improve learner onboarding, communication, support, and programme experience
Coordinate programme launches, assessments, workshops, and learning events
Monitor academic operations KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement
Support curriculum planning and the effective delivery of learning programmes
Manage operational budgets, resources, suppliers, and service requirements
Develop efficient processes for admissions, enrolment, timetabling, and certification
Work closely with quality, compliance, marketing, finance, and learner-support teams
Support recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance management of staff
Maintain appropriate quality assurance and safeguarding procedures
Respond to learner, tutor, and stakeholder concerns professionally and promptly
Support compliance with awarding-body, contractual, and organisational requirements
Prepare reports and provide operational updates to senior leadership

Requirements:

Experience in education, academic administration, training operations, programme management, or a related field
Previous experience coordinating teams, programmes, or operational activities
Strong organisation, planning, and problem-solving skills
Good communication and stakeholder-management abilities
Ability to manage schedules, records, deadlines, and multiple priorities
Learner-focused approach with a commitment to quality and service
Comfortable working with reports, data, and education management systems
Familiarity with quality assurance, safeguarding, or compliance processes is beneficial
Experience in professional development, further education, higher education, or private training is an advantage
Relevant education or management qualifications are preferred but not essential
Equivalent professional experience will be considered
