We’re looking for an inspiring Head Chef to lead the next chapter of our kitchen at Robertshaw’s Farm Shop Restaurant.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong, people-focused chef who wants to build more than just a successful kitchen service. We’re creating a positive, ambitious, and collaborative kitchen culture centred around exceptional local produce, homemade food, and a team that genuinely enjoys working together.

We’re looking for a Head Chef who shares those values — someone who can lead with positivity, inspire a team, maintain high standards, and help create a kitchen environment where people can thrive.

As Head Chef, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen while playing a key role in shaping its future. You’ll lead and develop the team, drive standards, contribute creatively to menus, and help build a kitchen culture based on teamwork, respect, consistency, and pride in what we do.

This role would suit a chef who loves working with fresh, seasonal ingredients and wants the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing business.

Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team
Create and maintain a positive, collaborative kitchen culture
Oversee all day-to-day kitchen operations
Ensure consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
Develop seasonal menus and daily specials using fresh local produce
Manage stock control, ordering, GP, and kitchen organisation
Maintain excellent food hygiene, health, and safety standards
Support, train, and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff
Work closely with the wider management team to drive the business forward
Deliver calm, organised leadership during busy service periods

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a fresh food environment
A genuine passion for homemade food and exceptional ingredients
Strong leadership and communication skills
Someone who leads by example and brings positive energy to the team
High standards across food quality, consistency, and kitchen organisation
Creativity and enthusiasm for menu development
A team-builder who values collaboration, respect, and professionalism

Full-time role working 5 days out of 7 (including 1 weekend day)
