Flexible - 20/30 hours per week

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic hospitality environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality dining experiences. The successful applicant will be involved in assisting senior chefs with food production, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall efficiency of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
Support the organisation and management of food production processes
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specified recipes and presentation standards
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations
Help with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Supervise junior staff or trainees where required, providing guidance and support
Uphold high standards of hospitality and customer service during service times

Experience

Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable
Supervising experience within a food production or restaurant setting is advantageous
Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen organisation
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Experience in team management or leadership roles within culinary settings is preferred
Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving, and general hospitality duties
