Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team to deliver excellent service. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting, ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in hospitality or culinary arts.

Duties

Wash, clean, and sanitise all kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
Support chefs with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
Ensure the cleanliness of work surfaces and floors throughout the shift.
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
Maintain storage areas in an organised manner, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables when required during service periods.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary and hospitality operations.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking hands-on experience within a professional kitchen environment, with opportunities for development within the hospitality sector.
