Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a cook. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall kitchen operations. Prior experience in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position is paid and suitable for those eager to pursue a career in the culinary industry. This Cook/Chef role is to be fulfilled over two sites within the company, one in Rhyl @ a General Residential Home and the second in Colwyn Bay @ a Mental Health supported service.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and ensuring timely delivery of dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Help with food storage, rotation, and inventory management to minimise waste
Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to hygiene standards and safety protocols
Support serving staff during busy periods by assisting with plating or delivering meals when required
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a kitchen environment is desirable but not mandatory
Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
Basic understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary procedures
Experience working in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team

Pay: £14.50 per hour
