Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where attention to detail and compassionate communication are highly valued. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with prior office or administrative experience who are eager to contribute to patient care and clinic efficiency.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment.
Manage patient appointments by scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary.
Answer incoming phone calls promptly, directing enquiries appropriately and taking accurate messages.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with data protection regulations.
Handle administrative tasks such as processing paperwork, filing, and managing correspondence.
Assist with billing procedures, including processing payments and issuing receipts.
Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth daily operations within the practice.
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Skills

Proven office experience or previous administrative experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and professional manner.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining accuracy.
Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Office Suite or similar programmes.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive patient information discreetly.
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new procedures and systems.
