Experienced Furniture Sprayer / Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker

Join a Growing Bespoke Joinery Company

Interior Art Design Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of high-end bespoke furniture, fitted furniture, cabinetry, commercial joinery and interior fit-out solutions.

We work predominantly within the care home, retirement living, hospitality and commercial sectors, manufacturing premium quality bespoke furniture and interiors from our workshop in Canvey Island.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Furniture Sprayer / Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker who is passionate about producing high-quality workmanship and takes pride in every project.

If you enjoy creating bespoke furniture rather than repetitive production-line work, we'd like to hear from you.

The Role

This is a varied workshop-based role combining bench joinery, cabinet making, furniture manufacturing and professional furniture spraying.

You will be involved in manufacturing bespoke items from start to finish before preparing and spraying them to an exceptional standard.

Key Responsibilities

Bench joinery and cabinet making
Manufacturing bespoke furniture and fitted joinery
Assembly of bespoke cabinetry and commercial furniture
Reading technical drawings and cutting lists
Preparing MDF, timber and veneered panels
Sanding, filling and finishing
Mixing and applying Sayerlack PU coating systems
Spraying primers, base coats, lacquers and top coats
Producing flawless painted, stained and lacquered finishes
Quality checking completed work
Working efficiently to production deadlines
Maintaining a clean and organised workshop and spray booth
Supporting installations where required

Essential Experience

Applicants must have professional experience in:

Furniture Spraying
Bench Joinery
Cabinet Making
Bespoke Furniture Manufacturing
Sayerlack PU Coatings
Two-pack polyurethane paint systems
Spray booth operation
Timber preparation and finishing
Furniture assembly
Reading technical drawings

You should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Desirable Skills

The following would be a major advantage:

Upholstery experience
CNC machining experience
Edge banding
Veneering
Commercial joinery
Shopfitting
Furniture installation
Site fitting
Corian or solid surface experience
Laminate fabrication
Experience working within care homes, hotels or commercial interiors

Practical Assessment

The final rate of pay will reflect your experience, speed, quality of workmanship and ability to work independently.
