Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in culinary arts and hospitality to develop their skills within a professional environment. Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and standards
Support senior chefs in food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
Organise ingredients and supplies efficiently to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance and leadership
Ensure all food production complies with health and safety regulations
Contribute to menu development ideas and seasonal updates
Assist with serving food during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery to customers
Support inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages

Qualifications

Proven experience or background in food production, cooking, or hospitality environments
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience supervising or managing team members is desirable but not essential
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly advantageous
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate colleagues
Passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the industry
