Welcome to Ormskirk Food & Drink Market, the original indoor market hall brought back to life as an immersive social space to eat, meet and play – all under one historic roof!

Our market offers seven vendors serving up a variety of tasty street food to be enjoyed in the original market hall or up on the mezzanine dining space. In the bar area, we have an abundant drinks menu to enjoy ‘til late and here you’ll find our stage, showcasing live music throughout the weekend, plus live sports streaming across multiple screens!

Whether it's family hangouts, fun with friends, doggy days, celebrations or date nights, the Market is a space for everyone to eat, meet and play.

Ormskirk Market is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to work side-by-side with our Venue Managers.

Role Purpose

To drive commercial growth across Ormskirk Food & Drink Market by proactively generating new business, increasing private hire bookings, developing partnerships and supporting the successful launch and ongoing growth of a new large private hire space. This is a highly proactive, outward-facing role focused on business development, relationship building and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Generate new business through proactive outbound sales activity. Build relationships with local businesses, organisations and community groups.
Attend networking events and represent the business within the local community.
Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline.
Respond to enquiries and convert them into confirmed bookings.
Conduct venue show rounds for prospective clients.
Identify and secure corporate, private hire and partnership opportunities.
Maintain regular follow-up with all enquiries and prospects.
Develop repeat business and referral opportunities.
Maintain an accurate customer database and sales records.
Prepare weekly sales reports and pipeline updates.
Work towards agreed sales, booking and revenue targets.

Private Hires

Drive bookings across all private hire spaces.
Lead the commercial launch of the new space alongside the management team.
Develop attractive private hire packages and proposals.
Promote the new space as a destination venue for corporate, community and social events.
Work closely with operations to deliver an excellent customer experience.

Marketing & Partnerships

Work alongside the marketing function to support campaigns and content.
Identify partnership opportunities that generate new business.
Support community engagement and local sponsorship activity.
Contribute ideas for social media, PR and promotional activity.
Represent the business professionally at events and within the local business community.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in business development and outbound sales.
Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
Confident generating opportunities through proactive outreach.
Commercially minded with a proven track record of delivering results.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Highly organised with strong time management.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Experience within hospitality, events or venue sales is required with 3 years minimum.
