Accounts Assistant – Part Time

As the business continues to develop, we are looking for an organised and dependable Accounts Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis and provide day-to-day support across the finance function.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in accuracy and wants to become part of an ambitious organisation where their contribution will genuinely be valued.

The Role

Working 20 hours per week, the Accounts Assistant will support the effective running of the company’s financial administration, ensuring records are accurate, up to date and maintained to a high standard.

You will work closely with senior management and other areas of the business, helping to ensure financial information is processed efficiently and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase and sales invoices
Maintaining accurate financial records and accounting systems
Reconciling bank accounts and company transactions
Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Raising invoices and monitoring outstanding payments
Assisting with credit control and following up outstanding accounts where required
Processing and reconciling expenses
Supporting preparation for monthly management accounts
Assisting with VAT records and returns
Supporting payroll administration where required
Maintaining organised financial documentation and records
Liaising with suppliers and internal departments regarding account queries
Assisting with financial reporting and providing information to management
Supporting the wider finance function with general administrative duties
Ensuring all financial information is handled confidentially and in accordance with company procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and confident working independently while also being part of a wider team.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience within an accounts, finance or bookkeeping role
Good understanding of basic accounting principles
Experience with accounting software such as Xero or a similar platform
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational and time-management skills
Confidence managing competing priorities and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A professional and confidential approach when handling financial information

An AAT qualification, part-qualification or relevant accounting experience would be advantageous, although we are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong practical experience within an accounts environment.
