Full job description

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for clients through attentive and respectful care.
Experience in elderly care, dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or child care is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

Provide personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Support clients with medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed routines
Assist with meal preparation and feeding for individuals with special dietary needs
Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care
Offer emotional support and companionship to clients, promoting their well-being and independence
Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, ensuring safety during transportation
Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent health concerns using first aid skills when necessary
Document care activities accurately and communicate any changes in client condition to relevant healthcare professionals

Requirements

Previous experience in supported living, nursing home, hospice, or home care environments is preferred
Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and behaviour management techniques
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required for mobility assistance or equipment handling
Valid driving licence for transportation duties
First aid certification is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple care tasks effectively
Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience when working with vulnerable individuals
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work various shifts including days and evenings as needed
