Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our Kitchen Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and hospitality, demonstrating exceptional leadership and team management abilities. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, home cooked foods and quality.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
Manage food production processes, ensuring timely delivery of meals to guests.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
Ordering of foods, stock checks and maintaining budgets
Preparing modified diets to meet residents IDDSI requirements

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef or assistant Chef (Looking to set up) in a care home or restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen operations.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
A passion for culinary arts and creativity in menu development is highly desirable.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
