With five generations of success, the Heaton Group has long been at the forefront of property development, capable of handling every aspect of the development process, from site acquisition and planning to construction, sales, lettings, and asset management.

We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to provide high-quality, efficient and customer-focused maintenance services across our growing portfolio of developed, managed and renovated residential and commercial properties.

As part of our Property Services Team, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance activities, helping to ensure our properties and managed developments are maintained to an excellent standard.

This is a varied, hands-on role where customer service, communication and quality of workmanship are key. You will be expected to manage appointments effectively, work safely and efficiently, and take a right-first-time approach wherever possible, consistently delivering high standards of service to our residents, tenants, clients and colleagues.

We are looking for a reliable, professional and practically minded individual with a broad range of maintenance skills who is comfortable working independently across different sites. Duties will include general property maintenance and repairs, waste removals, property and house clearances, grounds and garden maintenance, and providing practical support to colleagues and customers as required.

The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have a positive and flexible approach, and be committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety and customer care.

Main Duties:

Routine inspections of bin stores, car parks of our buildings, ensuring cleanliness.
Waste removal and disposal from our multi occupied buildings, including litter picking where required.
Tending to the grounds, keeping gardens trimmed neat and tidy, weed control and removal.
House clearances when required, prior to works being completed for new incoming tenants.
Undertake tasks such as gutter cleaning, supporting other operatives in their duties.
To use the appropriate equipment, materials, tools, and machinery to ensure the job is done effectively.
Collect and delivery of materials and goods.
To report any damage/defects to the appropriate person.
Collection of utilities information, such as meter readings.
To use a PDA as instructed, adding notes to all jobs as to works done and updates to jobs.
To ensure that all tools and equipment are kept in good working order and where required serviced regularly.
Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues and contractors to ensure an integrated contribution to the Groups objectives.
Ensure all checklists are signed off as required.
To conduct work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Key Info:

Working pattern/hours – Mon-Fri – 8am – 4pm
Operatives will have access to a company van for use within working hours.
