Job Summary

The Maids Head Wicken
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef / Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to showcase leadership skills within a vibrant hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory experience, excellent team management abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of food production and kitchen operations.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient and high-quality food preparation.
Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and presentation standards.
Manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Develop and implement innovative recipes whilst maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and control inventory to minimise waste.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to foster professional development and uphold standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment at all times.
Uphold food safety protocols in accordance with industry regulations and best practices.

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes.
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Experience in menu development, culinary innovation, and restaurant operations is highly desirable.
Previous experience serving customers or working in hospitality is advantageous but not essential. This role is perfect for a dedicated culinary professional seeking to advance their career by leading a talented team in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should demonstrate passion for cuisine, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding dining experiences.

Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
