About Us

Nestled in the heart of York, Flourish is a wellbeing and fitness club — a sanctuary for those seeking to move, breathe, and thrive. At the centre of our community is Nourish, our cafe — a nourishing space where members refuel with wholesome, delicious drinks after a class, a workout, or simply a moment of calm. We're looking for a warm, nurturing Cafe & Nourishment Host who shares our passion for nutrition and healthy living to join our team.

The Role

We're seeking a gentle, caring Cafe & Nourishment Host to be the welcoming heart of Nourish, our club's cafe. You'll prepare and serve nourishing drinks, support a calm and thoughtful service, and help create a space where members feel looked after and uplifted. This is a lovely opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys drinks, wellbeing, and gently connecting with people.

Key Responsibilities

Lovingly prepare and serve nourishing drinks, including smoothies, juices, coffees, teas, and other wellbeing beverages, to a consistently high standard
Offer warm, caring service to members and visitors, making everyone feel welcome
Keep the cafe area clean, calm, and inviting, in line with food and drink safety standards
Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the till system
Gently restock ingredients, supplies, and merchandise as needed
Support with stock rotation, deliveries, and minimising waste
Stay knowledgeable about the drinks menu, including nutritional content and allergen information, so you can kindly guide members towards what suits them
Help nurture a warm, positive atmosphere that reflects the club's health and wellbeing ethos
Support with occasional events, tastings, or seasonal menu launches

About You

Previous experience in a cafe, barista, or drinks service role preferred, but not essential — a kind heart and gentle nature matter most
A genuine love of nourishing drinks, health, and wellbeing
Warm, approachable, and comfortable caring for a wide range of people
Reliable, dependable, and a thoughtful team player
Good attention to detail, particularly around hygiene, food and drink safety, and allergen awareness
Barista skills desirable (or willingness to be trained)
A valid Food Hygiene certificate is a plus (or willingness to obtain one)
Flexible availability, including early mornings and weekends as needed
