About Meldrum Facilities Ltd:

As Site Manager you will be responsible for the running of construction projects and supervising those facility works to ensure everything is running smoothly and to schedule.

In this role you will be responsible to the Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project, ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs
Liaising with the client, consultants & other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public
Keep track of project margins / costs in line with set objectives
Evaluate project design to identify VE opportunities
Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
Preparing lookahead programmes from the target programme
Liaising with the supply chain to agree programme dates and coordinating their site works to achieve the same
Monitor progress against the target programme and notify the Contracts Manager of any delay or disruption.
Liaise with the Project Manager/Operations Support Team/Design Team to ensure all essential drawings, schedules, information requirements or answers to queries are requested and received in sufficient time to avoid delay and disruption
Ensure all verbal site instructions are recorded as per company procedure.
Build effective and efficient relationships with the internal and external supply chain
Requisition materials and tools where required in line with Bills of Quantities
Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety is at the highest level
Maintaining quality control procedures and adhering to the QEMS
Forward planning / finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up
Assessing and minimising risk
Writing reports and keeping on top of paperwork
Help to negotiate contracts and securing permits and licences
Oversee preparation and close out of snagging and defect using audit brick.

The main duties listed above are not intended to be exhaustive and may be revised in accordance with the requirements of the department and the company

Continuous Improvement & Leadership

You will actively contribute to the growth and improvement of the Construction Department and the company by:

Identifying challenges and proposing innovative solutions to enhance project delivery.
Supporting the development and refinement of QEMS procedures to drive operational excellence.
Encouraging collaboration and teamwork across internal teams and with external stakeholders.
Maintaining compliance with company policies, processes (including IP06), and professional standards.
Participating in training, skill development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

General Requirements

Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality regarding company and client information.
Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, while presenting a polished personal appearance.
Work independently, demonstrating initiative, organization, and the ability to prioritise competing tasks efficiently.
Thrive under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality results with attention to detail.
Understand and adhere to company structures, values, procedures, and QEMS standards.
Immediately report any site visits by external agencies (e.g., HSE, Environmental Health Officers) to your line manager.
