A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHEF DE PARTIE AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

Assist in preparing ingredients for various dishes, from chopping and slicing to marinating and portioning, to ensure each station runs smoothly.

Manage and oversee a designated kitchen section, ensuring the timely preparation and delivery of high-quality dishes during service.
Supervise, mentor, and support Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants, providing guidance to maintain high culinary standards.
Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented consistently in line with the restaurant's recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
Monitor stock levels within the assigned section, assist with ordering, rotate stock, and minimise waste while maintaining accurate inventory control.
Maintain exceptional standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and HACCP compliance, ensuring all equipment and workstations are kept clean and operational.
Coordinate effectively with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations, efficient service, and continuous improvement of kitchen performance.
Take responsibility for mise en place, section organisation, and quality control, ensuring readiness for service and adherence to health and safety regulations.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Genuine interest in cooking and enthusiasm for learning in a professional kitchen.
Some previous kitchen experience is a plus, but a willingness to work hard and learn is essential.
Understanding of basic food prep techniques and a commitment to improving your skills.
Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety.
Team-oriented mindset, able to take direction well and support colleagues as needed.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying focused and reliable during busy services.
