Salary: £34,434 - £36,363 per annum

Hours per week: 37 hours

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people and families? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Stronger Families Team as an Outreach Worker.

Our Stronger Families Team is an exciting and innovative model aiming to provide intensive support and care for young people who are at risk of becoming looked after or who have been in care and could now return home to their family. These roles are part of an expansion as SFT develops our reunification work with families, supporting young people and parents to live together again after a period in care.

As an Outreach Worker, your role will be to establish strong relationships with young people and their parents or carers to understand the barriers to achieving positive outcomes. You will work directly with young people and parents or carers to provide appropriate and tailored support to address needs and manage a complex caseload which retain a case-holding social worker. You will develop plans with the families, utilising relationships and resources within their wider support network. You will effectively use your knowledge and experience to de-escalate crisis and prevent volatile situations.

We are looking for people who are enthusiastic with proven experience of working with vulnerable adolescents. A strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures and the importance of safeguarding alongside the ability to remain organised and maintain accurate plans and reports will be essential. You will need to be flexible in the support you offer, equipped with the ability to manage competing caseload demands and have a genuine commitment to advocating for vulnerable children and young people.

Please note this is a county wide outreach role and so we are looking for people who are confident in driving around Wiltshire and are happy to do this as part of your role. We also work flexibly to best meet the needs of our families, which could include working some evenings and weekends.
