Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, kitchen management, and culinary arts, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will be instrumental in supporting the Head Chef and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and presentation of a diverse range of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
Supervise kitchen staff during service, providing guidance and support to maintain efficient workflow.
Manage food production processes, including portion control, plating, and presentation standards.
Oversee food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management to minimise waste.
Train junior kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards.
Support the Head Chef in menu planning, development, and innovation initiatives.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment to meet hygiene standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
Demonstrable experience in food safety practices and regulations.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of quality.
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments effectively.
