Yard Operative / Forklift Driver / Vehicle Washer

MLH Transport Ltd is a well established family run transport and warehousing business based in Ely. We're looking for a reliable, hardworking and proactive Yard Operative who enjoys variety and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.

This is a varied role where you'll play an important part in keeping our transport operation running smoothly. No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone with a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever required.

Duties will include:

Loading and unloading vehicles using a forklift.
Moving HGVs, trailers and other company vehicles safely around our depot and yard.
Washing and presenting our HGV fleet, vans and trailers to a high standard.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe yard.
General yard maintenance and housekeeping.
Cleaning warehouse floors and communal areas using industrial cleaning equipment, including a floor scrubber.
Assisting the warehouse team when required.
Collecting vehicle parts and supplies.
Driving company vehicles to collect drivers or support transport operations.
Carrying out general maintenance and odd jobs around the site.
Supporting the wider team with any other day to day operational tasks.

What we're looking for:

Full UK driving licence (essential).
Experience driving HGVs around a depot or yard would be an advantage (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
Forklift licence required
A hands-on, can-do attitude.
Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Someone who takes pride in keeping vehicles, equipment and the workplace clean and organised.
Flexible and willing to help wherever needed.
