Job Overview

We are a friendly, family-run skip hire business looking for a reliable and organised Office & Weighbridge Administrator to join our small, close-knit team.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for answering customer enquiries, taking skip hire bookings, operating the site weighbridge, and supporting the day-to-day running of the office. You'll work closely with our drivers and the rest of the team to ensure our customers receive an efficient and professional service.

As a small family business, we value teamwork, a positive attitude, and a willingness to get involved. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a busy environment, have excellent customer service skills, and take pride in providing a friendly and professional experience for every customer. Previous administration, customer service, or weighbridge experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to customer enquiries.
Take skip hire bookings and arrange deliveries and collections.
Operate the site weighbridge, accurately recording vehicle weights.
Issue weighbridge tickets and maintain accurate records.
Liaise with drivers and site staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Process customer payments and invoices.
Carry out general office administration and data entry.
Provide excellent customer service to both trade and domestic customers.

Confident and professional telephone manner.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Capable of multitasking and remaining calm under pressure.
Friendly, approachable, and a strong team player.
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Willingness to learn and undertake training, including operating the site weighbridge.
Previous administration, customer service, or weighbridge experience is desirable but not essential.
Experience within the skip hire, waste management, recycling, or transport industry would be an advantage but is not required.

Pay: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
