We’re looking to grow our team and have opportunities for part-time roles in the heart of Bath. We’re after experienced baristas and enthusiastic cafe/kitchen assistants who are confident on the coffee machine, love good food, and are passionate about delivering a great customer experience.

Please note: this role requires good flexibility, including weekdays, weekends and holidays/half-term availability. We’re looking for team members with reliable, ongoing availability throughout the year and meet the demands of a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Barista Duties:

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages with precision and artistry.
Ensure consistency in coffee quality and presentation according to established standards.
Maintain a clean and organised coffee station

Food Preparation:

Prepare poke bowls, acai bowls, and other menu items with attention to detail and adherence to recipes.
Carry out daily food preparation, including ingredient prep, stocking the kitchen, and ensuring all items are ready for service.
Monitor stock levels throughout each shift, communicate low stock promptly, and help ensure the kitchen is prepared for busy trading periods.
Rotate stock correctly, minimise waste, and maintain the freshness and quality of ingredients.
Ensure food is prepared and presented in accordance with FSA standards for hygiene and safety.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimise waste and ensure freshness.

Customer Service:

Deliver friendly, genuine, and attentive customer service, ensuring every customer feels welcomed and valued.
Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
Be proactive and look for ways to go the extra mile, creating memorable experiences that exceed customer expectations.
Help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes every visit to Rainbowls enjoyable.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the cafe, including eating areas, food prep areas, and toilets.
Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to uphold hygiene standards.
Conduct regular equipment maintenance and report any issues to management promptly.

Cash Handling and Closing Duties:

Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
Perform cashing up duties if on the closing shift.
Secure the premises at the end of the day, ensuring all doors and windows are locked.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
Demonstrate flexibility to work independently as well as part of a team as per business needs.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a barista, with a strong understanding of coffee preparation techniques.
Previous food prep experience would be ideal but not essential
Knowledge of Food Standards Agency (FSA) regulations and a commitment to upholding high hygiene standards.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
