Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The Assistant Manager will play a vital part in maintaining a welcoming environment and supporting the overall success of our establishment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring smooth service delivery
Supervise and motivate team members, including front-of-house and kitchen staff
Coordinate food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Manage food production, including overseeing portion control and presentation
Support staff training programmes, including serving techniques and hospitality best practices
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
Assist in organising staff schedules, inventory management, and stock control
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health regulations
Contribute to menu planning and development initiatives in collaboration with culinary staff

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
Extensive restaurant experience, including food preparation, cooking, and serving roles
Knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes
Previous kitchen or hotel experience is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Experience in hospitality or barista roles is advantageous but not essential
A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service and fostering a positive team environment
