Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman/woman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving various aspects of residential and commercial properties. This role requires a proactive individual with a broad skill set in general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. The ideal applicant will be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to ensure properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs or repairs
Perform general repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting
Install fixtures, appliances, or fittings as required
Troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions promptly
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
Assist with renovation projects and property upgrades
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner

Requirements

Proven experience as a Handyman/woman or in a similar maintenance role
Broad knowledge of repair techniques across various trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical)
Ability to read technical manuals and diagrams
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Valid driver’s licence is preferred for transportation between sites
Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Relevant certifications or qualifications in trades are advantageous but not essential
