Full job description

Café Assistant – Bites N Beyond

Location: Bites N Beyond Café

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and reliable Café Assistant to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you will help deliver excellent customer service while assisting with food preparation in a fast-paced café environment.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
Take customer orders accurately using the till/POS system.
Prepare hot and cold drinks, including tea, coffee, and milkshakes.
Assist in preparing Full English breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and Indian street food.
Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards.
Keep the dining area, kitchen, and workstations clean and organised.
Follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times.
Wash utensils and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
Refill stock and report low inventory to management.
Handle customer enquiries politely and resolve basic issues professionally.
Work as part of a team during busy breakfast and lunch service.

Experience & Requirements

Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience working in a café/Barista, restaurant, or similar food service environment.
Basic knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and kitchen operations.
Confident in taking customer orders and delivering excellent customer service.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Please note: We are currently looking for applicants with previous café or restaurant experience. Candidates should have a good understanding of food preparation and customer service. Applications from candidates without relevant experience may not be considered.
