Overview

Join our team as a Receptionist/Administrator and be the welcoming face of our accountancy practice! This role combines front-of-house responsibilities with administrative duties, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office and a positive experience for clients, visitors, and colleagues alike. We're looking for an organised, personable professional who enjoys working in a busy environment and wants to build a career supporting an accounting team. This is a paid position offering a great opportunity to develop your office and industry experience.

Duties

Greet visitors and clients warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed and attended to promptly
Manage incoming calls, direct enquiries efficiently, and take accurate messages when necessary
Maintain an organised reception area, ensuring it remains professional and presentable at all times
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence
Support office operations by ordering supplies, coordinating post/mail distribution, and maintaining office equipment
Assist with basic bookkeeping or invoicing tasks as needed to support the administrative and accounts team
Liaise with team members to ensure smooth communication and an efficient workflow throughout the organisation

Skills and Experience

Proven office experience demonstrating strong organisational skills and professionalism
Previous administrative experience is desirable for handling varied office tasks effectively
Basic knowledge or previous experience of working within an accounting or professional services environment is preferred, though not essential
Excellent communication skills — friendly, clear, and confident in person and over the phone
Good IT skills, with confident use of Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under pressure
Strong interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Languages

Fluent English is essential for this role
Punjabi and/or Hindi language skills are preferable, though not essential
