About Us
Lighthall Consult Chartered Certified Accountants is a London-based accountancy practice with a working arrangement from Colchester.
We are an ACCA Approved Employer and support a range of clients with tax compliance, business advisory, accounts preparation, reporting, and general practice support. As a growing firm, we are looking for someone who is motivated, reliable, and keen to develop within a professional accountancy practice environment.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax and Accounts Assistant to join our team on a 24-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension depending on performance, reliability, and the needs of the firm.
This is a varied role offering exposure to tax compliance, business advisory, tax planning, client reporting, accounts preparation, and practice administration. It would suit someone who wants to build practical experience within a growing accountancy firm and develop a broad foundation across tax, advisory, and accounts work.
The Role
The successful candidate will assist with tax compliance, business advisory reports, client support, administration, and accounts preparation. You will work closely with the Partner and support the delivery of accurate, timely, and professional services to clients.
Unlike many junior practice roles, this position offers exposure to tax compliance, business advisory, tax planning, strategy reports, client advisory work, and accounts preparation. It is therefore a strong opportunity for someone looking to develop wider practical experience within accountancy practice.
This role would suit someone with around 1–2 years’ experience in an accountancy, tax, bookkeeping, finance, or practice support role. An ACCA Affiliate or part-qualified ACCA candidate would be preferred, although applicants with relevant experience and a strong willingness to learn will also be considered.
As Lighthall Consult Chartered Certified Accountants is an ACCA Approved Employer, this may be a particularly suitable opportunity for an ACCA Affiliate seeking relevant practical experience towards ACCA membership, or for a part-qualified ACCA candidate looking for structured development in practice.
This role is offered as a 24-month fixed-term development opportunity. It is designed for someone who is looking to make a meaningful commitment, gain practical experience, and develop across tax compliance, business advisory, client reporting, and accounts preparation.
The role will be based on a 4-day-per-week working pattern, with flexible working hours. The salary range is £22,000 – £25,000 full-time equivalent, pro-rated for 4 days per week, depending on experience.
