Bar & Restaurant Supervisor at The Gloucester Old Spot

We are a busy, food-led independent pub, renowned for our hearty homemade dishes, excellent selection of real ales, and commitment to using locally sourced ingredients and drinks wherever possible. Our beautiful beer garden accommodates over 150 guests, making us a popular destination throughout the year.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Bar & Restaurant Supervisor to join our friendly team. As an independent freehouse, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining high standards of presentation, and offering opportunities for personal development and career progression.

The Role

This is a hands-on supervisory position where no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising the day-to-day running of the bar and restaurant.
Delivering excellent bar and table service.
Assisting with cellar management.
Placing orders and helping manage stock control.
Leading shifts and supporting the front-of-house team.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and customer service throughout the pub.
Leading by example and creating a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and colleagues.

Full training will be provided on our systems and procedures; however, previous experience in a busy bar, restaurant, or pub environment is essential, and supervisory experience would be a distinct advantage.

Hours

Up to 36 hours per week.
Five days per week.
A mixture of straight and split shifts.
Regular evenings and weekends.
Two midweek days off.

Hourly pay is competitive and will be based on experience.
