Full job description

JDL Contractors Ltd is a growing contractor specialising in social housing refurbishment projects, with a strong focus on kitchen and bathroom refurbishments. Due to continued workload, we are looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking Labourer / Kitchen & Bathroom Strip-Out Operative to join our team.

Role & Responsibilities

Carrying out kitchen and bathroom strip-outs within occupied and void social housing properties
Removing existing kitchens, bathrooms, sanitaryware, wall tiles, flooring, and associated fixtures and fittings
Assisting tradespeople with refurbishment and installation works as required
Loading, unloading, and moving materials and equipment safely around site
Removing waste materials and maintaining clean, organised work areas
Protecting tenants' homes and communal areas during refurbishment works
Following health and safety procedures at all times
Reporting any site issues, defects, or additional works identified during strip-out activities
Working professionally and courteously within occupied properties

Requirements

Previous experience in construction labouring, demolition, strip-out, or refurbishment works
Experience removing kitchens, bathrooms, tiles, flooring, and general fixtures is preferred
Ability to safely use hand and power tools
Good understanding of site health and safety requirements
Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties
Valid CSCS card
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with tenants
Reliable, hardworking, and committed to delivering high standards of work
