We are looking for an experienced and motivated Compliance Lead to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and developing our quality assurance and compliance framework.

Job Overview

The Compliance Lead is responsible for ensuring the organisation meets all regulatory and contractual requirements across its domiciliary care, supported living, and healthcare staffing services. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Registered Managers, you will support the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care by maintaining strong compliance, governance, and quality assurance processes.

The role involves coordinating audits, maintaining policies and procedures, monitoring changes in CQC regulations and healthcare legislation, supporting inspections, and working with managers to address compliance issues. You will play a key role in identifying areas for improvement, ensuring actions are completed, and helping the organisation maintain high standards across all services.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee compliance across our domiciliary care, supported living, and healthcare staffing services.
Ensure the organisation meets CQC Fundamental Standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
Develop, review, and maintain policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
Lead regular audits, file checks, service reviews, and spot checks, ensuring actions are completed promptly.
Monitor compliance across care records, staff files, recruitment checks, training, safeguarding, GDPR, health and safety, and infection control.
Support Registered Managers and operational teams to identify and resolve compliance risks.
Coordinate CQC inspection preparation, including evidence gathering and supporting teams through the inspection process.
Investigate compliance concerns, incidents, complaints, and safeguarding matters, ensuring appropriate actions are implemented.
Maintain compliance action plans and provide regular audit reports and updates to senior leadership.
Deliver compliance guidance and training to managers and staff.
Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote continuous quality improvement.
Maintain accurate compliance records and promote a culture of quality, safety, and person-centred care.

Essential

Experience working in a compliance, quality, governance, or regulatory role within health or social care.
Good understanding of CQC regulations, Fundamental Standards, and relevant health and social care legislation.
Experience of carrying out audits, inspections, or quality assurance activities.
Knowledge of domiciliary care, supported living and healthcare staffing services.
Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, information governance, and health and safety requirements.
Strong report writing, organisational, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge poor practice constructively.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects.

Desirable

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or working towards), or another relevant qualification.
Experience supporting CQC inspections or regulatory audits.
Internal auditing or quality improvement qualification.
Knowledge of local authority and NHS commissioning requirements.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services.
