Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated Joinery Workshop Assistant to support our skilled team in delivering high-quality timber doors and windows. This paid position offers valuable hands-on experience in a busy workshop environment, ideal for highly motivated individuals. The successful candidate will assist with manufacture, finishing to include prepping for spray booth and final assembly, contributing to the efficient organised team. A keen eye for detail, willingness to learn, and physical stamina are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Assist with the fabrication and assembly of joinery products using hand tools and power tools
Support the preparation of products in our finishing department.
Carry out heavy lifting of materials and finished products as required
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to ensure safety and efficiency
Support with basic carpentry tasks such as cutting, sanding, and fitting components
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during workshop activities

Skills

Experience or interest in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry processes
Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers
Familiarity with power tools used in joinery and woodworking however not essential
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical work or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude towards learning new skills
