About us:

Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales with a strong reputation for high quality teaching and learning. We have six campuses across the city with over 4,500 full time learners and 10,000 part time learners. We currently have a turnover of over £50 million making us a major employer in the region with approximately 1,000 staff.

The role:

Gower College is seeking to appoint two Learning Support Assistants to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the exciting 14-16 Schools programme. Both posts will be in the Landscaping and Eco Construction, and Heath and Beauty learning areas.

Part-time (20 hours per week)
Term-time (36 weeks per annum)
Permanent
£11,264 per annum based on 20 hours per week (£26,084 FTE)
Tycoch campus

Key Responsibilities:

Support and mentor young people, some with challenging behaviour supporting them to achieve their full potential
Liaise with the school staff and College lecturers, working together to create an effective environment for the learners

About you:

Maths and English GCSEs: A - C Grade or equivalent
Experience of working with young people in a similar job role
Good understanding of safeguarding and supporting learners with additional needs
Confident, resilient, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
