Overview

We currently have exciting job opportunities in Corporate Business Support where we have over 300 staff delivering a wide variety of Business Support services across Buckinghamshire Council. We have been operating since April 2012 and we are looking for Individuals with the ability to demonstrate the Buckinghamshire Council’s values.

We aim to provide front line services with an efficient, value for money business process administration and project support service. We pride ourselves on being resilient and adaptable to change, whilst understanding the processes, policies and values held by the council.

We pride ourselves as highly experienced in working across a range of services provided in the council. The strength of the team is its knowledge of the key support services required to ensure a smooth running of services being provided by the different Business Units.

Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. Resources cover a wide range of specialisms, including Human Resources, Finance, ICT and Business Operations. Our main focus is supporting the other directorates to provide the best possible service to our residents. To do that, we have to make sure we have the right people in the right roles across the organisation. From our finance teams, working strategically to ensure the best value from public money; to HR keeping our employees healthy and happy, each service is vital in making sure Buckinghamshire Council has what it needs to run effectively and efficiently.

About the role

Working as part of a team, you will provide effective and efficient administrative support to Children Service’s Teams.

Your duties will be varied and include:

Typing letters, managing correspondence, receiving telephone calls and taking messages from both internal and external customers, note taking at meetings, inputting to the Councils databases and electronic systems, financial responsibilities, meeting deadlines and other general administrative duties.

You must be able to work flexibly to respond to service demand, be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise a varied and challenging workload efficiently, have both good verbal and written communication and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Any-Desk:

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you

Possesses good communication skills and accurate attention to detail.
Knowledge and experience of taking meeting minutes.
Educated to GCSE / NVQ2 standard or equivalent, including in English and Maths.
Keen to learn and able to juggle priorities effectively, often with conflicting demands.
Caring and helpful and able to work as part of a team.
Customer focused and has a can do attitude.
