Full job description

Overview

To control a section of the Sales Ledger including Debt Collection to set targets, clearing of

credit control alerts within department procedures, creation of credit notes and cash allocationas required. Amendment to existing customer/prospect accounts and creation of newcustomer/prospect accounts as per company procedure.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

Chase overdue customer payments by phone, email, and letter.
Manage a section of the sales ledger and maintain accurate customer records.
Process and allocate BACS, cheque, and card payments.
Investigate and resolve invoice, credit note, payment, and POD queries.
Raise and process credit notes, invoices, refunds, and supplier debit notes.
Review and release held orders in line with company credit procedures.
Update customer account details, credit limits, and account status changes.
Process reminders, statements, and final notices.
Support legal debt recovery processes and liaise with solicitors when required.
Upload invoices and credits to customer web portals.
Handle incoming emails, post, and customer enquiries.
Monitor unallocated cash and outstanding supplier debit notes.
Maintain accurate records and notes within the company's system.
Carry out general administrative and ad hoc duties as required.

Key Skills

Credit control or accounts receivable experience.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
