System Administration Support Officer – Planning and Place System Migration

About the Role

We are recruiting a System Administration Support Officer to support the migration of Planning and Place services from Acolaid to Idox Uniform.

This is a key role supporting system administration, data migration, configuration, testing, application support, and successful implementation, while acting as an important link between operational service teams, IT, project teams, and external system suppliers.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting the migration of Planning and Place services from Acolaid to Idox Uniform
Assisting with data preparation, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and migration
Mapping existing processes, fields, and workflows from Acolaid to Uniform
Supporting system configuration, including workflows, case types, statuses, templates, and system settings
Creating and maintaining user accounts, roles, permissions, and access levels
Providing day-to-day system administration and application support during implementation and after go-live
Investigating system issues, resolving them where possible, and escalating complex issues to IT or the system supplier
Supporting system interfaces and integrations with corporate and external systems
Preparing and carrying out system testing and user acceptance testing, including test scripts and defect tracking
Coordinating testing with operational users and ensuring identified issues are followed through to resolution
Carrying out data quality checks and reconciliation to ensure migrated information is accurate and complete
Providing practical support to users during testing, training, implementation, and go-live
Assisting with user guidance, process documentation, and training materials
Working with service teams to understand requirements and translate them into appropriate system configuration and solutions
Maintaining accurate records of configuration changes, testing, migration activities, issues, and decisions
Supporting project governance, including risks, issues, dependencies, change control, and implementation milestones
Liaising with the Project Manager, IT teams, Idox, and other suppliers on technical and configuration matters
Supporting the transition from project implementation to ongoing business-as-usual system administration

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Experience administering or supporting a complex business or case-management system
Experience in system configuration, user administration, or application support
Experience supporting a system implementation, upgrade, or migration project
Good understanding of data quality, validation, and data migration principles
Experience of system testing, defect identification, and issue management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to investigate technical issues and identify practical solutions
Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to understand business processes and translate requirements into appropriate system solutions
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to system administration
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users
Ability to work effectively with technical specialists, operational teams, and external suppliers
Ability to maintain accurate system and project documentation
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project environment
Commitment to data quality, information security, and good governance

Desirable:

Previous experience using Idox Uniform
Previous experience using Acolaid
Experience within local authority Planning, Building Control, Land Charges, or related regulatory services
Experience configuring Uniform workflows, document production, reporting, or system settings
Experience with SQL, databases, data interrogation, or reporting tools
Experience supporting system interfaces, APIs, or integrations
Experience of business process mapping or process improvement
Experience supporting user acceptance testing and system go-live

Benefits

£31.38 per hour
Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
12-month contract with immediate start
