Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and eager to develop their skills within a dynamic catering or restaurant setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, adhering to food safety standards, and assisting with meal service.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in line with menu specifications
Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and basic dishes under supervision
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces, including washing utensils, equipment, and surfaces
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Help with stock rotation, inventory checks, and proper storage of ingredients
Support serving staff during meal service periods as required
Assist with cleaning and sanitising kitchen tools, appliances, and work areas after each shift
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to minimise risks within the kitchen environment

Experience

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment is advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred
Experience in meal preparation or culinary roles will be highly regarded
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and working efficiently in a team setting is essential
