Full job description

The Role

This role is ideal for a practitioner who combines a love of early years education with a strong commitment to inclusion, consistency and SEND support.

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will:

Deliver high-quality care and learning in line with the EYFS and nursery curriculum
Build secure, trusting relationships with children and their families
Support children’s curiosity, independence and confidence through meaningful learning opportunities
Promote children’s physical and emotional wellbeing through a nurturing and consistent approach
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and operational procedures to maintain outstanding practice

As SENCO, you will:

Lead the identification and support of children with special educational needs and disabilities
Coordinate SEN support plans, referrals and EHCP processes in line with nursery procedures
Work closely with parents, colleagues and external professionals to ensure joined-up support
Promote inclusive practice across the nursery and support staff through guidance and coaching
Maintain accurate documentation and oversee regular reviews of children’s progress and outcomes
Ensure SEND provision reflects current legislation, EYFS guidance and nursery SOPs

You will receive protected supernumerary time to fulfil SENCO responsibilities effectively.

What We’re Looking For

Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 4+ and SENCO training desirable)
Experience supporting children with SEND within an early years setting
Good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS framework
Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
A reflective practitioner committed to inclusive, child-centred practice
Passion for supporting children, families and colleagues
